I'm Kevin, a software engineer based in Kansas City, MO. I'm passionate about building things, mostly software. I develop exceptional websites and web apps that provide intuitive user interfaces with efficient and modern backends.
I started out with a part-time web developer position while attending Kansas State University. A year later, I found my passion for iOS mobile apps where I led 3 projects from start to finish. Shortly after graduating, I joined an engineering team at Cerner where I work on backend services.
Outside of my full time job, I play soccer, help family members with laggy old desktops, and read.
2017 - Present
At Cerner, I'm part of the team that maintains an advanced ticketing system that's built into one of our revenue cycle. We use a vertical slice approach so my responibilities are full stack. Apart from my main responsibilities, I've had the opportunity to mentor and grow incoming engineers.
2016 - 2017
This is an industry that I wasn't too familiar with but I got up to speed quickly. I built and led the development of 3 apps targeting 25,000 veterinarians nationwide. These apps provided a farmer friendly user interface and experience with efficient and modern backends.
2013 - 2015
My main role was to provide innovative and visonary solutions to meet the needs to K-State. I uplifted the front-end for Java and Python based web applications. The other project was to renovate the K-State directory using Python + Django. I maintained a total of 5 different web apps here.
Outside of my jobs, I've always done something on the side. From launching an iOS app at K-State to being a freelance web developer. Currently, I'm dipping my toes into fin-tech: quantitative analysis.
I'm always looking to expand my network. If you've got a project in mind or just want to say hi, feel free to message me on my social media or email me at kevin at kevinmanase dot com.
